Highly recommended reading for WW2 aircraft modellers

Over the last year I have read three absolutely brilliant books about the lives of pilots and aircraft during WW2 (from the perspective of Allies at least). I thought I would share them with you in case you are coming to the end of a book and are looking for another read to complement your hobby.
Why are these books especially good? They offer a very compelling window into the lives of the servicemen and the aircraft they flew. At times I actually had to put the books down and take a few deep breaths to compose myself for fear of getting too affected, if you see what I mean; they are that powerful.
While it is all well and good making the models or aircraft that served in conflicts of the last 95 years, it makes all the difference by getting under the skin of what it was like to actually fly and fight in them. I would highly recommend all of the below books to you.
