This is my first blog entry for 2010. Things have been very hectic at The Model Catalogue lately and consequently I have not been as up-to-date as I should be with things. I found The Model Catalogue through a google search for an Airfix B29 Superfortress - all other model retailers were out of stock,
except for The Model Catalogue - and the find was made all the sweeter when I realised you had a 25% sale as well! (An excellent idea by the way, certainly makes prices much more competitive).
I was so impressed with the speed and quality of service that you will note I have also recently purchased a Revell Lancaster.
Both of my purchases arrived very soon after placing my order, and exceptionally well packaged - my 3yr old daughter particularly likes the freebie sweet chews and the large bubble wrap - she likes to ride her scooter over it to pop all the bubbles!
I found the site easy to navigate, and the search facility both accurate and quick. My only suggestion for improvement would be to break the categories down yet further (eg Military Aircraft - pre WW2 - WW2 - Post WW2 - Modern), but that really is a minor thing.
All-in-all, a fanstastic service, and I am very sure that I will be buying again from The Model Catalogue. I'll be signing up for the email newsletter very soon! I hope you've found my feedback useful to you - I would of course always be willing to provide further comments and feedback should you so wish.

I have recommended your site to others, and will certainly be using it again, if only to keep re-supplying my stash of lead shot. There is certainly something about serving fantastic customers that is honorable and extremely fulfilling, and when we get it right it is just the best. I thought I'd share some feedback I received recently, all with identities masked to protect their privacy.

We never forget an order however much time has passed...

We are not perfect and occasionally there is a long delay fulfilling an order. However we are very fastidious about our record keeping and never forget a customer's order. In the case below we emailed Brian F, apologising for the delay and offered a replacement kit to a value of 50% more than the price he paid. This was his reply:

This was a great example of us going the extra mile for a customer who wasn't quite comfortable with the idea of ordering online. After a period of correspondence and coaching with us to ensure Betty was comfortable she was buying what she wanted to and with the cost, the order was placed. It was then dispatched quickly and most importantly arrived to the satisfaction of the customer. Below is an extract of email sent to us after the parcel was received; of which we are naturally very proud.
"Ref order no. 258 for the Kenworth Truck - received in good condition - David is thrilled to bits. Will be in touch later when he wants another truck. Thanks very much for all your help - much appreciated."
